Daniel S. Crovo, P.E. - Principal Engineer

With over 30 years in the public sector working at MassDOT, Dan’s experience reflects a deep understanding of transportation design and construction. As the District Bridge Engineer, Dan was responsible for the maintenance and performance all 633 state-owned bridges in District 5. He oversaw several bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects that use Accelerated Bridge Construction techniques, including the Route 79/Braga Bridge Improvement Project which included precast substructure and modular retaining walls. As the Technology Liaison for UMass, Dan worked with researchers on creating design guidelines for integral abutment bridges. Dan was also a major contributor for developing MassDOT guidelines including: rewriting the standard specification for Cement Concrete, establishing the MassDOT Bridge Maintenance Policy, and developing standard details and design policies as part of the Bridge Manual Committee.
