Bridge Rehabilitation
MassDOT Bridge, Route 2 (Mohawk Trail) over the Deerfield River: Bridge betterment/rehabilitation project that entailed the removal and replacement of the bridge deck and wearing surface, as well as strengthening portions of the superstructure and adding shear studs to make the new deck composite in the positive moment regions.
MassDOT Bridge Route 3A (Princeton Street) over the B&M RR and Moore’s Canal: Superstructure replacement consisting of a two-span continuous bridge (45'-39') with rolled steel beams and a reinforced concrete deck. Developed traffic plans and signing for project, including a temporary detour. The traffic management plan incorporated one way traffic over the bridge using coordinated signals.
MassDOT Bridge Route 2 over Cold River: Bridge preservation project for rehabilitation of 119-foot steel plate girder bridge with high skew angle. Replacement of bridge deck with thicker deck composite with girders, resulting in an increased live load capacity from H20 to HS-25. Also performed traffic PS&E of detailed traffic management plan for phased construction in remote mountainous region in Western Massachusetts, within a sharp s-curve roadway alignment.
